DC Universe Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game primarily targeted for ps3 and pc. Challenges in this project were trying to keep a comic book feel to the art and allow big open city environments in which the player could feel like a real superhero. Levels had to be made modular and big enough to accommodate combat. This made scale and making areas feel inhabited a challenge. Lighting became a big focus to help tie everything together and draw focus to central arenas and playable areas while giving the illusion of more space around you. I was in charge of supporting the main team with things like modeling some tile sets, additions to tile sets, props, texturing and lighting all while also managing a group of 5 other artists and communicating remotely to the Austin Studio which was the main studio working on the project.
